Trump's Wall Is Stopped, His Muslim Ban Ended

 

     In 2017, one of Donald Trump's worst and first actions as president was to implement a ban on Muslims entering the United States. He later pledged to construct a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Of the 2,000 miles of border, 400 miles of fencing were already in existence. When he hit funding issues and declared a state of emergency in 2019, he managed to build an extra 50 miles of wall. In four years, he kept two percent of his promise.

     Within a few hours of taking office, the man Republicans called "Sleepy Joe" undid Donald Trump's entire immigration legacy. His executive orders ended the Muslim ban, stopped construction of new wall, sent home the National Guard troops at the border, and restored DACA protections. Biden has also appointed the first Hispanic man and first immigrant as Secretary of Homeland Security, and he is expected to undo Trump's harsh regulations and increase the number of refugees.
