Barack Obama's Retirement Just Got Busier
Last month, on a Facebook post, Former President Barack Obama announced that his foundation had cleared the several-year clearance and community consultation process and would break ground on its headquarters within a matter of months. The foundation, located in Chicago, focuses on developing community advocates and assisting education. It will also manage his presidential library.
This comes on the heels of his November 2020 publication of The Promised Land, a bestseller with millions of copies continuously being distributed and part of a larger decamillion-dollar book deal.
Obama, alongside his wife, Michelle, co-owns Higher Ground Productions, a company that has created or acquired over a dozen documentaries, television programs, movies, and podcasts in the past few years. Additionally, he had increased his schedule of speeches and interviews, and he played an active speaking role in Georgia during the 2020 election.
Obama has been rated the second-most admired man of the past century, behind only Dwight D. Eisenhower.
