Trump No Longer Has Access To Intelligence Briefings
President Biden recently announced that Donald Trump will not have access to post-presidential intelligence briefings. While citing the risk Trump posed, Biden also noted that he saw no need for it. Such briefings are customary and not mandatory. Considering Trump refused to concede, sent a mob to kill Congress, criminally pressured Georgia officials, and violated every inaugural transfer of power custom, the idea that Trump deserves the benefit of custom is ludicrous.
It is also worth noting that Trump was disinterested in most intelligence briefings as president unless he saw reason to disagree with it. Even former Trump officials have claimed that he would not do well with the information, especially as Trump faces criminal and civil liability. In 2017, Trump accidentally gave classified information in a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
