Joe Biden: The Most Pro-Equality President In American History

On Valentine's Day, let us appreciate the spirit of love and highlight some of the significant strides President Biden has made for LGBT2SQIA+ rights in his first few weeks in office:

     1. Pete Buttigieg was confirmed as Secretary of Transportation, making him the first openly-gay cabinet member.

     2. President Biden signed an executive order codifying Bostock v. Clayton County, banning sexual orientation and identity discrimination in employment. This was his most popular executive order, with nearly 85% support.

     3. President Biden ordered the Department of Defense to repeal Trump's ban on transgender people serving in the military.

     4. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced that the Biden administration will appoint an LGBT Rights Envoy and fly pride flags at U.S. embassies, neither of which Trump did. He has also pledged support for a bill codifying these moves.

     5. Biden has expressed his support for landmark legislation like the Equality Act and the Every Child Deserves A Family Act, both of which are working their way through Congress.
