Donald Trump's Lies To Pennsylvania Cost Him The Election

Donald Trump lied to the Rust Belt, and he lost Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan in the process. When he was elected, he promised to restore American manufacturing. While economic growth continued in his first two years at a rate similar to that of the Obama administration, it plateaued in 2019, and the coronavirus pandemic cost 600,000 jobs alone.

Pennsylvania, in particular, has seen the impacts of declining American manufacturing. The "Rust Belt" nickname comes from shuttered factories literally turning to rust. Despite saying "Trump digs coal" and walking around a few plants with some signs, Trump did nothing but deliver empty rhetoric.

His rationale for pulling out of the Paris Agreement was that he would represent the people of Pittsburgh. He couldn't even do that.
