Sweden On Track To Be 100% Renewable Before 2040

Sweden is notable as the home country of Greta Thunberg, a young hero who brought climate action to the attention of the masses and spurred the first real legislation and company moves to fight the insidious threat resulting from centuries of pollution.

The Scandinavian country has pledged to run on 100 percent renewable energy by 2040. What is truly exciting is that words that were once empty promises are not only likely to be true in this case, but perhaps manifest said truth much sooner.

Its 2030 target of 50% was reached in 2018, and, at the current rate, Sweden will surpass its renewable energy target before 2040. This is incredible news for the planet, and it shows nations like China and the United States that real climate action is possible.
