Linkin Park Surpasses 10 Billion Views On YouTube

Linkin Park's musical journey has been a complex and emotional one. From their early days of rap rock and nu metal to their transition to experimental rock, their controversial and successful switch to industrial and electronic rock, their "prequel" hard rock work, and their somber, reflective finale.

Their YouTube channel, though, has been relatively stable. It is merely one part of their engagement online, which is among the largest of any artist of any genre in the world. With nearly 18 million channel subscribers and "Numb" and "In The End" both accumulating over a billion views apiece, they hit a huge but not unexpected milestone on April 21st: their YouTube channel hit 10 billion views.

While this is not seen as news nearly as big as an album chart position or the views on an individual video, it is noteworthy. Linkin Park is the 101st most-subscribed music channel on YouTube, the 114th most-subscribed of any channel type in the United States, the 207th most-viewed, and the 283rd most-subscribed.

I once heard someone say they "didn't know anyone still listened to Linkin Park." Nearly 18 million people disagreed over 10 billion times. Art is most beautiful, perhaps, because it can never die as long as those who appreciate it keep it alive.
