White Supremacist Capitol Thug Gets His Guts Splattered On Texas Highway

"A patriot who loved our country and those who served to protect our freedom" was among the gushy praise given to Joseph Barnes, a 35-year-old Capitol rioter from Texas who became a relatively famous figure not for what he did or what he wore, but what he said. In one of the more viewed clips from inside the chaotic scene, he can be heard saying, "This is our house," while searching for police to assault and members of Congress to murder.

For his role in the January 6th insurrection, Joseph Cable Barnes was charged with numerous federal felony charges and released on recognizance. Facing several years in prison, he pleaded not guilty back in March. I say "guts" and not "brains" because I doubt there is much going on this guy's head... well, was. His obituary described him as a "Renaissance man" who "stood up for the underdog" and "enjoyed painting flags." More accurately, he was a high school graduate who worked in real estate in Austin, and, more relevant to his crimes, he was a white supremacist cult member. His blatant disregard for the law was not just displayed on January 6th... it resulted in his death.

On June 12th, 2021, in Austin, Texas, Barnes ran a red light at a busy intersection in Austin... apparently traffic laws don't apply to the hapless hillbilly, either. Karma was real that day, though. When he ran that red light, he collided with a silver Toyota and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. I sincerely hope the Toyota driver doesn't feel bad, especially since it was Joseph's fault and Joseph was a few months away from being a convicted felon who committed sedition against his country.

Rest in pieces, I would say to Mr. Barnes, but now is the time for healing. Namely, I hope the crews in the Lone Star state don't have too much trouble repainting the highway you messed up. My only sorrow is that the DOJ will have one less conviction, but it's probably safer for the community this way... you would've gotten out of prison eventually.
