A Running List Of U.S. Attorneys Appointed By President Joe Biden

America's federal judiciary is, as it ought to be, a priority for President Biden. Shaping a coequal branch of government that has final say over whether your agenda is constitutional is an extraordinary opportunity that comes with an equal amount of responsibility. I've already created a page dedicated to tracking President Biden's work shaping federal judgeships. Aside from establishing a bipartisan commission to consider reforms to the Supreme Court and pledging to appoint a black woman to the Supreme Court should he get the chance, President Biden has already nominated nearly 60 federal judges in the past eight months, the fastest rate for any president, and prioritized appointing men and (especially) women of color with diverse backgrounds as public defenders and activists instead of just corporate attorneys and prosecutors.

We must also remember the U.S. attorneys; the judges may decide the cases, but these men and women are the ones who prosecute them. While there are 870 federal judges, there are only 93 U.S. attorneys, who are appointed to four-year terms. During his four years, Donald Trump appointed 84 people. In his first year, President Biden has appointed 44. We are on track to appoint more than President Trump over the next four years, and these 44 include far more women and people of color than Trump's 84. Check out the names of the nominees below and note that this list will be updated as the attorneys are confirmed:
