Paul Gosar Seems To Be Trying To Get Himself Banned From Twitter. Good.

One person you don't hear from too much anymore is Marjorie Taylor Greene. She's still introducing crazy legislation and resolutions, from impeaching Joe Biden to giving Kyle Rittenhouse a Congressional gold medal, and giving crazy speeches, bringing out a meme calling the Green New Deal socialism on the House floor, but she's no longer the flavor of the month in GOP Crazyville. After losing her committee assignments and scrapping her planned Anglo-Saxon Caucus, she began losing the attention she needed to bring in donations. Her Greene-Matt Gaetz PAC is on track to begin losing money by the end of the year, her donations have been declining for months and are on track to dip below a million dollars, her chief of staff has resigned, and the fines for not wearing a mask and bringing a gun onto the House floor are eating up most of her salary. She has four strikes on her Twitter account, and a fifth will get her kicked off the platform permanently.

At the same time, Matt Gaetz is done for. His best friend, Joel Greenberg, has been cooperating for almost a year; federal prosecutors say his cooperation will lead to the prosecution of dozens of people for felonies like identity theft, fraud, racketeering, and, most egregiously, human trafficking. Considering what we know about Matt Gaetz, from him admittedly having dinner with a teenage girl to Venmo payments labeled "tuition" to drug-fueled parties to a trip to the Bahamas, a country notorious for sex trafficking, it appears that it is only a matter of time before Gaetz is criminally charged. As the prosecutors have said, the investigation is "taking [them] places [they] never could have imagined."

Now, attention is turning to two more "MAGA Caucus" members, Paul Gosar of Arizona and Lauren Boebert of Colorado. Boebert is on track to lose her committee assignments for anti-Muslim remarks about Ilhan Omar, she is under investigation for illegal campaign fund use and weapons violations, and she is now facing a strong Democratic challenger in the form of Sol Sandoval. Meanwhile, she, along with Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Andy Biggs, and numerous other members of this group are also under investigation for alleged roles in the Capitol insurrection.

Gosar, meanwhile, is the first person to be censured since 2010. Republicans talk about "doing the same thing" and "going down the list" once they get control of the House. I guarantee you not a single Democrat would ever make an anime of themselves killing a fellow member of Congress and assaulting the president. Gosar also says that what he did was no different than violence on Cartoon Network. The key difference is that Cartoon Network doesn't threaten actual people; if a member of the public made the same video that Gosar did, the FBI would be at their front door in a second. The last person censured was a Democrat, and that was while Democrats had full control of Congress. Just look at Al Franken: the key difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Democrats hold their own party members accountable while Republicans do not.

Here's another piece of good news: it appears Gosar, like Greene, is on track to get kicked off of Twitter. After Twitter removed his video and Gosar was censured, he uploaded a weird video of himself pacing and ranting in his office before uploading the same video again in defiance. Please, Paul, keep it up. We've seen what happened to Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz. It's time for the same thing to happen to the Arizona dentist whose own family thinks he belongs in a mental institution.

The MAGA Caucus is on the ropes; at the same time, Representatives Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, and others who weren't loyal to Donald Trump are being kicked out of the party. This doesn't even include Representatives Jeff Fortenberry and Darrell Issa, the former already indicted and the latter about to be indicted for accepting foreign campaign contributions and lying to the FBI. At this rate, it appears the GOP gerrymandering advantage in 2022 may be cancelled out by the sheer number of representatives who are going to be arrested.
