Mike Gallagher Is Standing In The Way Of Progress

Mike Gallagher likes to brag about his military service a decade ago and the fact that he is in shape, running in his commercials as if that is relevant to anything aside from a shitty pun. In terms of actual congressional work, the sort he is paid almost $180,000 a year by taxpayers for, he has nothing to brag about. In fact, most often it is quite the opposite. To put it simply, Mike Gallagher is standing in the way of progress.

He voted "no" on the Equality Act, reaffirming his belief that gay and transgender people deserve to be discriminated against. He voted "no" on the American Rescue Plan Act, attempting to deprive those he is supposed to represent of billions of dollars for speedy vaccinations, reopening schools, debt relief, and economic growth. To counter the argument that Republicans saw it as unnecessary, he voted against giving the United States a stimulus in December, as well. He voted "no" on the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, reflecting his belief that women deserve to be beaten and murdered. He claimed to detest Donald Trump in front of the cameras and placed blame squarely on the former president for inciting the deadly insurrection of January 6th, 2021, and then he voted "no" on impeachment. Smile, Mike!

Mike Gallagher is nothing but a crook, leeching off his constituents, working to undermine any amount of principle in politics, and playing victim when he is called out by reverting back to his preppy, white, upper-class childhood. Once again simply put, as there is no need for flowery language in politics, Mike Gallagher is the perfect representation of the Trumpian GOP and a case-in-point for exactly what is wrong with politics today.

If my fellow Wisconsinites are truly interested in holding the least-trusted institution in the United States to account, a good first step would be voting out Mike Gallagher this election.
