Madison Cawthorn is a Huge Problem for the GOP.

The Sedition Caucus is getting punished pretty badly this 117th Congress. Last month, Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was expelled from her committees last year and is currently facing a very real possibility of being prevented from running in the midterms for her support for "Marshall law," reported a fundraising loss last quarter, continuing a long decline in her hauls over the past year or so. Lauren Boebert's district was redrawn from solid red to competitive in the state's latest redistricting process. Matt Gaetz is still facing an active investigation for sex trafficking. Then there's Madison Cawthorn.

The young punk who advocates political violence came to increased public attention this year when he claimed that he had been invited to multiple "cocaine orgies" by fellow members of the GOP. The "constitutional conservative" and "Christian" who has been accused of sexual misconduct by 20 women and was called unfit for office in an open letter signed by the majority of alumni at his college claims that Democrats are perverts; however, in the past two weeks alone, video has emerged of him being groped by a male Congressional staffer (and enjoying it) and images of him in a women's lingerie have come to light; I can guarantee you one thing: more hypocritical images and videos of immature and inappropriate conduct will surface. Like Matt Gaetz, Madison Cawthorn is a Republican who embraces a "frat boy" image in spite of his political platform and rhetoric. It's no wonder that he got divorced from his wife Cristina in December 2021 after just eight months of marriage.

This behavior has also extended to the point of legal trouble. In February 2021 and again in April 2022, he was cited for attempting to illegally bring a firearm onto a plane. In March 2022, Representative Cawthorn was charged with driving with a suspended license while two speeding tickets were pending; he faces time in jail, having previously been cited for criminal diving offenses in 2017. In April 2022, it was revealed that Cawthorn could face penalties for violating the STOCK Act, which requires timely disclosure of stock investments, for his involvement in a "pump and dump" scheme involving the ill-fated "Let's Go Brandon" cryptocurrency. This all makes sense, considering he took the office once held by Mark Meadows, who was held in criminal contempt for stringing the January 6th Committee along in its investigation.

Minority Leader McCarthy has called on Madison Cawthorn to get his personal life together. I'm calling on Leader McCarthy to endorse a primary challenger. Madison Cawthorn is unpopular among Democrats for being a far-right insurrectionist, and he's going to become unpopular among conservative Republicans for being an alcoholic, cross-dressing, divorced criminal. Madison Cawthorn is a huge problem for the GOP: it's time he pays the price for his foolish and sometimes downright criminal behavior.
