How Many Times Has President Biden Visited Your State? Check Here to Find Out!

For all the damage he did to our country, Richard Nixon at least has a sizeable list of positive contributions, one of which was becoming the first president to visit all 50 states in the nation. George H.W. Bush would do the same, as would Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. In modern times, this appears to be mostly a Democratic trend. Sure, it is helpful in freeing up time when you don't have full control of Congress, but this hasn't been the sole deciding factor. President Trump, for example, aimed his visits nearly all in either swing states or states that voted for him in 2016, largely avoiding Democratic states like the plague. For all the talk about his being a "weak old man," President Biden has moved remarkably quickly in his visits, highlighting the impacts of his landmark legislation in communities across the country and helping grieving families in states and territories red and blue. In his first 20 months, President Biden has made 177 visits to 33 states as well as Puerto Rico, and his cabinet members are all keeping a similarly busy and wide-ranging schedule of trips. If he keeps it up at this pace, President Biden could easily visit every state in the country at least once.

I believe, for the sake of history, for beating out his predecessor in yet another area, for healing divisions that dehumanize the opposition in this country, to connect with the people in the smallest towns and the biggest cities, to prove critics wrong, and for a plethora of other reasons helpful to both the president and to the nation, President Biden should make that a goal. He should also build on that and seek to become the first president to visit every state twice in a potential second term while asking every one of his cabinet members to visit every state at least once. While 101 of these 360 visits were to his home state of Delaware, he's off to a running start, with just 12 states (some of which are dark blue and all of which would be useful, relevant places to visit) left and two years of guaranteed time to visit more places around the nation. The numbers so far are as follows:

  1. Delaware: 120

This does not include international trips, which President Biden is also making at a historic rate for the first two years of a presidency, let alone one in which the president controls Congress. I expect President Biden to increase his rate of trips over the next two, and hopefully six, years of his administration. Once more, in another facet of this active, historic administration, President Biden is proving his critics wrong.
