#TBT: Lyndon Johnson Creates Public Broadcasting
On November 7th, 1967, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Public Broadcasting Act, landmark legislation that created the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Public Broadcasting Service, and National Public Radio. Better known as CPB, PBS, and NPR, these services provide reliable information to the public as well as educational programming, particularly children's shows like Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.
