#TBT: JFK's Famous Inauguration
John F. Kennedy's inauguration was one of great historic significance. Among the youngest presidents in American history and the youngest elected to the office, as well as the first born in the 20th century, he became its first Catholic president (Joe Biden became the second 60 years later) on January 20th, 1961.
At this inauguration, Kennedy famously used chiasmus with his words, "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what your can do for your country." His ceremony was the first to include a poet, with a beautiful message delivered by legendary wordsmith Robert Frost.
