For the 40th Time as President, Biden Visits Pennsylvania
Today, for the 40th time as president, Joe Biden visited Pennsylvania. Biden arrived at Philadelphia International Airport in the presidential helicopter Marine One before participating in a campaign event at the Mt. Airy Church of God in Christ. Biden then flew to Harrisburg International Airport and attended an event at the Biden-Harris campaign headquarters in nearby Lower Paxton Township.
Biden visited the Keystone State nine times in 2021 and eleven times each in 2022 and 2023. He has now visited the state nine times in 2024, for a total of 40 visits in less than 42 months, or nearly monthly. More visits will likely come in the weeks and months ahead. Three weeks from today begins the final 100 days of the 2024 presidential election, and Pennsylvania is a must-win state.
This comes on the heels of Biden's 10th visit to North Carolina on June 29th and his 12th visit to my home state of Wisconsin on July 5th. Biden has visited Arizona and Ohio once; Florida and Nevada twice; Georgia, Michigan, and Texas three times; North Carolina four times; and Wisconsin five times so far this year in his re-election bid. The fact that the Scranton native has visited Pennsylvania more than any other swing state and nearly any other state since assuming office is little surprise.
Biden's campaign has been the subject of scrutiny since his poor performance during parts of the CNN presidential debate nearly two weeks ago. However, polls have shown that the debate had a negligible impact on who Americans support for president, and Biden has continued to outraise Trump in every month except for May, when the former president was convicted of 34 felony charges of falsifying business records.
Biden has also continued to beat Trump in the number of individual donors, money spent on the campaign, as well as volunteering, and most Democrats have rallied around the president in the past few days. Polls nationally show a toss-up in November, with the "Blue Wall" of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan favoring Biden over Trump in nearly every poll. These three states alone could carry Biden to 270 electoral votes if they are won. Biden has also seen increased support since the Supreme Court's ruling that presidents have "absolute immunity" for official acts.
Pennsylvania could also determine contol of the United States Senate during the 119th Congress, with Senator Bob Casey running for a fourth term in November. To support Senator Casey, click here. To support President Biden, click here.
